  • Your child has a blockage in only one kidney (unilateral UPJO).
  • Your child is between birth and 5 years old.
  • Your child has never had surgery on the urinary tract.
  • Your child does not have bladder or lower urinary tract problems.
  • Your child has not had kidney stones, reflux, or a urinary tract infection.
