Who can take part

  • You are pregnant, and it’s a single baby (not twins or more)
  • Your baby is male, and scans show severe urinary blockage with a swollen bladder and kidney swelling
  • You have low fluid around the baby (too little amniotic fluid) and are between 16 and 26 weeks pregnant at the procedure
  • After 20 weeks, a fluid/urine lab check is within a “favorable” range, and there has been no earlier in-womb treatment like a shunt
  • You (the pregnant parent) agree to invasive genetic testing (amniocentesis or CVS), and the results are normal
  • Your family agrees not to end the pregnancy before 24 weeks and can meet study visit, travel, and support requirements
