Modified immune cells for blood cancers after chemo

Lymphodepleting ChemotherapyMyeloid Malignancies

Treatments studied

Part of Blood & lymphatic, Cancer clinical trials.

This trial tests a new type of immune cell (NK cell) that has been engineered to target a protein called PRAME found on some cancer cells. It is for people with certain types of blood cancer (AML, MDS, or CMML) that have come back or not responded to treatment.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have one of these blood cancers: acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), or chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) that has returned or not responded to at least two treatments.
  • You have a specific genetic marker called HLA-A*02:01 (a blood test can check this).
  • You are well enough to carry out daily activities (Karnofsky score more than 50%).
  • Your heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver are working reasonably well, as shown by tests.
  • You are not pregnant, and if you can have children, you agree to use effective birth control during and for a few months after the study.

Engineered NK cell therapy for relapsed blood cancers

This trial tests a new immune cell therapy (engineered NK cells) for people with certain blood cancers like AML, MDS, or CMML that have not responded to standard treatments. The therapy aims to help your immune system attack cancer cells, and is given after a short course of chemotherapy.

NCT02727803Recruiting· Phase 2
Personalized natural killer cell therapy for blood cancers

This trial tests a customized immune-cell treatment (NK cells) for certain blood cancers to try to control or eliminate cancer cells. You may qualify if your cancer has come back, did not fully respond, or has higher risk features.

NCT07137481Not yet recruiting· Phase 2
CD5-targeting immune cells for T-cell blood cancers

This trial tests a new treatment using specially engineered immune cells (NK cells) that target the CD5 protein found on certain T-cell blood cancers. The cells are given after a short course of chemotherapy to help them work better. It may be an option for people with aggressive T-cell cancers that have not responded to standard therapy.

NCT05110742Recruiting· Phase 1/Phase 2
CD5-targeting NK cell therapy for blood cancers

This trial tests a new kind of immune cell therapy (NK cells) that are made to attack cancer cells carrying the CD5 marker. You will have a short course of chemotherapy before the infusion to help the cells work. It is for people with certain blood cancers that have not responded to standard treatments.

NCT07444632Recruiting· Phase 1
Gene-modified cord blood cells for advanced blood cancers

This trial tests a new type of immune cell therapy using cord blood cells that are grown to attack cancer cells. It is for people with certain blood cancers (lymphoma or acute lymphoblastic leukemia) that have come back or not responded to standard treatments.

CD70-targeting NK cell therapy for blood cancer relapse

This study tests an immune therapy made from cord blood “NK cells” that are engineered to attack cells with a marker called CD70. It’s given after chemotherapy that reduces your blood and immune system, aiming to treat relapse or refractory (not responding) blood cancers.
