Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with a herniated disc in the lower back and are scheduled for a single-level disc surgery to remove the center part of the disc.
  • Your disc problem has lasted for at least 6 weeks and has not improved with non-surgical treatments like rest, therapy, or medication.
  • Your disability from the disc is significant (ODI score is 20 or higher on a 100-point scale).
  • You have moderate to severe pain in at least one leg (VAS pain score of 4 or higher out of 10).
  • Your combined score based on your disc degeneration grade, age, and disc height is 7 or less.
  • You are willing to join the study and can follow the study instructions.
