Fabric knee brace for better walking in older adults

This study tests a soft, fabric knee brace designed to help older adults walk better. If you are 65 or older and have muscle weakness, diabetes-related foot numbness, or knee arthritis, this brace may improve your balance and stability.

Who can take part

  • You are 65 years or older
  • You have at least one of these: muscle weakness (sarcopenia), diabetes with nerve damage in your feet, or knee arthritis with ongoing pain
  • You can walk without help from a cane or walker
  • You don't have serious health problems that affect walking, like a recent stroke, Parkinson's, or severe heart/lung disease
  • You are able to understand and follow study instructions
  • You have not had major knee or leg surgery that changes how you walk
