Who can take part

  • You have muscle-invasive bladder cancer (stage T2-T4a) that has not spread to lymph nodes or other organs.
  • You cannot receive cisplatin chemotherapy due to kidney problems, nerve damage, hearing loss, heart failure, or you chose not to take it.
  • You have not had chemotherapy or radiation for bladder cancer before, though prior treatments placed directly into the bladder (like BCG) are okay.
  • Your daily activity level is fully active or able to do light work (ECOG 0-1).
  • You are not on dialysis for kidney failure.
