Who can take part
- You are at least 18 years old
- Your BMI (body mass index) is 35 or higher
- You have a 10% or greater chance of needing dialysis within 2 years, or you are already on dialysis
- You do not have any condition that prevents the use of GLP-1 receptor agonists (like pancreatitis, medullary thyroid cancer, or an allergy to the drug)
- You do not have type 1 diabetes
- You have a way to get semaglutide through your drug coverage
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
- You are not currently in another study testing GLP-1 receptor agonists
