Who can take part

  • Your baby must be either preterm (born between 34 and 37 weeks) or full term (37 weeks or later) and partially breastfed.
  • Your baby cannot be taking probiotics (like certain supplements) outside of this study.
  • Your baby could not have been exposed to drugs (like cannabis, cocaine, heroin, opiates, or alcohol) before birth.
  • Your baby must weigh at least 1500 grams (about 3 pounds, 5 ounces) at birth.
  • Your baby cannot have a serious long-term health condition, birth defect, or brain injury.
