Hospital at Home for Cirrhosis Recovery

Decompensated Cirrhosis

This study tests whether recovering from cirrhosis at home, with a nurse visiting daily, works as well as staying in the hospital. You'll be enrolled in the Hospital at Home program and need a caregiver to help for the first two days.

Who can take part

  • You must be enrolled in Indiana University Health's Hospital at Home program.
  • You need a caregiver who can be with you for the first 48 hours after leaving the hospital.
  • You must live in the IU Health Home service area and be able to take care of your daily activities on your own.
  • You must be at least 18 years old and speak English.
  • You cannot be pregnant, on hospice, or have certain unstable health conditions (like very low blood pressure or needing a lot of oxygen).
