Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You are scheduled for one of these major abdominal surgeries: removal of the esophagus, stomach, colon, rectum, pancreas, or a part of the liver
- Your kidneys are working well enough (serum creatinine below 2.82 mg/dL)
- If you could become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test and use highly effective birth control during the study
