  • You are between 50 and 65 years old.
  • You broke your shoulder bone (proximal humerus) from a simple fall, not a high-energy accident.
  • Your doctor believes the bone can be fixed with surgery.
  • You are able to understand and answer follow-up questions by yourself.
  • You have not had a fracture or surgery on the same shoulder before.
  • You do not have paralysis in your arm.
