Who can take part
- You must be newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and not yet taking any diabetes medication.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Your HbA1c level (a blood test for average blood sugar) must be between 8.0% and 11.0%.
- Your body mass index (BMI) must be between 19 and 35 kg/m².
- Your kidney function must be normal or only mildly reduced (eGFR ≥ 60).
- You must be willing to participate and sign a consent form, and you must not be pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
