Who can take part
- You or your loved one has a central line (a type of IV tube placed in a large vein).
- For the first part: the patient has passed away and the family agrees to an autopsy.
- For the second part: you are alive, have a central line, and are scheduled for a CT scan without contrast dye.
- Your kidney function must be good enough (GFR above 15) for the CT scan without contrast.
- You must be able to give your informed consent (or the next of kin must give permission).
