Heart scan study for amyloid protein in older adults

Cardiac Amyloidosis

Part of Brain & nervous system, Genetic & congenital, Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.

This trial is testing older adults with heart failure to see if a heart condition called cardiac amyloidosis (a buildup of abnormal protein in the heart) is present. If you are 80 or older, have been in the hospital for heart failure in the past year, and have a thickened heart wall, you may be able to join.

NCT04849754Recruiting
Monitoring heart amyloidosis with a special scan

This study looks at how a type of heart condition called transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis changes over time, using a special imaging test called a bone scan. The goal is to see if the scan can help track the disease and potentially improve care.

Testing heart tiny blood vessel function in amyloidosis

This study measures how well the heart’s tiny blood vessels work in people with cardiac amyloidosis, using special heart testing. It may help doctors understand the disease better and improve how patients are evaluated over time.

Finding heart amyloidosis in bone scans

This study looks back at bone scans that were done for other reasons to see if they can spot a condition called cardiac amyloidosis, where abnormal protein builds up in the heart.

NCT07238426Enrolling by invitation
Heart screening for older adults in Ordu, Turkey

This study is a screening program in Ordu, Turkey, to find older adults (65+) who might have a heart condition called cardiac amyloidosis. It uses medical records and heart ultrasounds to check people who already have certain heart problems.

Study of heart ultrasound findings in cardiac amyloidosis

This study looks at how cardiac amyloidosis shows up on heart imaging, especially ultrasound (echocardiography). It may help doctors better describe and track the condition using your exam and test results.

Heart ultrasound study for older adults with heart failure

This study uses a special ultrasound to measure heart stiffness in people 60 and older who have heart failure with preserved or mildly reduced pumping function, with or without a condition called ATTR amyloidosis (a protein buildup in the heart). It also includes healthy controls.
