Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for an elective nasal surgery (not an emergency).
  • You are in good general health (classified as ASA I or II, meaning no serious medical conditions or only mild controlled conditions).
  • You do not have uncontrolled high blood pressure.
  • You do not have heart disease, kidney, liver, or brain problems.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood-thinning medications.
  • You are not anemic (low red blood cells) and do not have sickle cell disease or other blood disorders.
  • You are not pregnant.
  • You are not allergic to propofol, ketamine, magnesium, or lidocaine.
