Autoimmune Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis

Who can take part

  • Age between 6 and 17 years old.
  • Diagnosis of autoimmune pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (aPAP) confirmed by lung biopsy, wash, or CT scan.
  • Positive blood test for anti-GM-CSF antibodies (the marker for aPAP).
  • Lung function (DLCO) is 70% or below normal for your child's age and hemoglobin level.
  • No lung lavage (lung wash) treatment within the past month.
