Who can take part
- You must have a diagnosis of mastocytosis that only affects the skin or a mild form that also involves the skin (indolent systemic mastocytosis with skin involvement).
- Your doctor must know if you have a specific genetic change called a KIT mutation in your skin, bone marrow, or blood.
- You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding, and you must not have a history of allergies to numbing medicines, poor wound healing, or bleeding disorders.
- You must avoid sun or UV light on the skin areas where a biopsy might be taken for 4 weeks before the study.
- You cannot have used certain treatments for skin inflammation (like steroid creams, light therapy, or steroid pills) recently.
- You must not be in another clinical trial for indolent systemic mastocytosis or have advanced mastocytosis.
