Ear nerve stimulation for teens who self-harm

Who can take part

  • You are 13 to 17 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) disorder, meaning you hurt yourself without trying to end your life
  • You can understand and follow instructions for using a small device that stimulates a nerve in your ear
  • You do not have certain health conditions that could make the stimulation unsafe, like epilepsy, a heart condition, a pacemaker, or a cochlear implant
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Your parent or guardian agrees to sign a consent form
