Who can take part

  • Your baby was born weighing less than 1500 grams (about 3.3 pounds).
  • Your baby is currently taking at least 100 ml of milk per kilogram of body weight each day through a feeding tube or bottle.
  • Your baby was born at or after 25 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Your baby does not have major birth defects, especially of the stomach or intestines.
  • Your baby has not had a serious gut infection called necrotizing enterocolitis, a bowel perforation, or bowel surgery.
