Comparing two asthma rescue inhalers with different propellants

This study compares two versions of the common asthma rescue inhaler (salbutamol/albuterol) that use different propellants (the gas that pushes the medicine out). The goal is to see if the new propellant works as well as the current one. If you have mild asthma and are on a stable treatment plan, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have had asthma for at least 6 months and it is mild to moderate (your lung function is at least 80% of normal).
  • You are on a stable asthma treatment (either a rescue inhaler alone, a low-dose steroid inhaler, or a combination inhaler) for at least 12 weeks.
  • You have not had a severe asthma attack in the last 6 months, and no more than one in the last year.
  • You are a non-smoker or have not smoked or vaped in the last 12 months, and have less than 10 total pack-years of smoking history.
  • You are willing to temporarily stop your rescue inhaler for 12 hours and any long-acting inhaler for 48 hours before study visits.
