Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been on a breathing machine (ventilator) for more than 24 hours.
  • Your doctor has decided you are ready to try coming off the machine (a weaning trial).
  • You are calm and alert enough to answer questions comfortably.
  • You do not have any severe phobias, hearing loss, or vision problems that would prevent you from wearing a virtual reality headset.
