Blood flow restriction exercise after Achilles tendon rupture

Achilles Tendon Rupture

Part of Bones, joints & muscles, Injuries & trauma clinical trials.

This study tests whether adding blood flow restriction (using a special cuff) to standard rehabilitation exercises can help people with a torn Achilles tendon recover better. It might be an option if you recently ruptured your Achilles and started treatment within 72 hours.

Restoring the torn Achilles tendon

This trial is testing a new way to repair a completely torn Achilles tendon. It uses MRI scans to make sure the repair is as good as possible, aiming for better healing and recovery.

NCT07131787Recruiting
Blood flow restriction training after Achilles tendon repair

This study tests whether adding blood flow restriction training to standard rehab helps your Achilles tendon and calf muscle heal better after surgery. You would do exercises with a special cuff that gently limits blood flow to your leg.

NCT06254794Recruiting
Blood flow restriction rehab after Achilles tendon repair

This study tests whether adding blood flow restriction (BFR) to standard physical therapy helps people recover better after Achilles tendon repair surgery. You may be a good fit if you had a PARS or open repair and plan to rehab at a Methodist Hospital.

Houston, Texas
NCT04104126Recruiting
Blood flow restriction therapy for an Achilles injury

This trial looks at whether “blood flow restriction” during exercise can improve healing for people with an Achilles injury. You may be asked to also do standard physical therapy, but the study focuses on the added blood-flow-restriction approach.

NCT04149977Recruiting
Blood flow restriction therapy for knee tendon injuries

This study tests whether blood flow restriction therapy can help healing and recovery after certain knee extensor injuries (like patella or quadriceps tendon rupture). You must be able to take part in the usual physical therapy plan, too.

NCT05241197Recruiting
Low-load leg training with blood flow restriction for Achilles pain

This study tests whether gentle resistance exercises plus a blood-flow restriction wrap can reduce long-lasting Achilles tendon pain. You may be asked to train in the clinic several times a week for 12 weeks.
