Who can take part

  • You are 18–79 years old and able to handle daily activities with little or no help.
  • You had radiation for a pelvic cancer (like cervix, prostate, or rectum) and now have ongoing rectal inflammation (proctitis) that started at least 6 months after treatment.
  • Standard treatments for this proctitis haven't worked for you.
  • You do not have severe organ problems (like liver, kidney, or heart failure) or a serious immune disease.
  • Your cancer has not returned or spread, and you aren't currently pregnant.
  • You agree not to try to conceive and to use effective birth control during the study and for 6 months after.
