Using a blood test to diagnose TB in pleural fluid

This study tests a new blood test that looks for TB DNA to see if it can help diagnose tuberculosis in people who have fluid around one lung. If the test works, it might make diagnosing TB faster and less invasive.

NCT07230457Not yet recruiting
Testing blood for TB before bronchoscopy

This trial checks if a blood test can find TB DNA before a lung procedure called bronchoscopy. It may help people who need a bronchoscopy but cannot cough up sputum for testing.

Measuring TB DNA in blood and urine for diagnosis

This study looks for TB DNA in blood and urine samples to see if it can help diagnose tuberculosis (TB) more quickly. It includes people with active TB, those with a latent (hidden) TB infection, and healthy volunteers without TB.

NCT07077096Not yet recruiting
Better infection testing for new pleural fluid buildup

This trial tests a new PCR panel to quickly identify infections in pleural fluid (fluid around the lungs). It may help doctors choose the right treatment faster for people with new fluid buildup in the chest.

NCT05394220Recruiting
Testing pleural fluid to learn causes of fluid buildup

This study uses a sample taken from the fluid around the lungs to understand what is causing the fluid to collect. It may help doctors learn better ways to diagnose infections versus other causes.

A simple blood and fluid test for cancer or tuberculosis in the chest

This study looks at whether a simple calculation using your blood and chest fluid test results can help tell if your chest fluid is caused by cancer or tuberculosis. It may help doctors diagnose the cause of fluid around the lungs more accurately.
