Preventing bedsores in patients placed on their stomach

Pressure Ulcers Prevention in Prone Positioning in Intensive Care

Part of Injuries & trauma, Skin clinical trials.

This trial tests a new way to prevent bedsores (pressure injuries) while patients lie on their stomachs for breathing support. It's for adults in the ICU with severe lung problems who are on a ventilator.

Awake prone positioning for community acquired pneumonia with high-flow oxygen

This trial tests whether lying on your stomach (prone position) while awake can help people with pneumonia breathe better and avoid needing a breathing tube. It is for patients in the ICU or step-down unit who need high-flow oxygen therapy.

NCT07126964Recruiting
Extended prone positioning for ARDS patients on ventilators

This trial tests if longer periods of lying face-down (prone positioning) can help people with ARDS who are on a breathing machine. It aims to improve oxygen levels and possibly reduce the need for more invasive treatments.

HOFA versus hydrocolloid dressings to prevent bedsores

This trial compares two types of skin protection to prevent pressure sores (bedsores) in people who must lie face-down (prone) in the ICU. It may help by reducing new sores from constant pressure in common injury areas.

Preventing pressure injuries in intensive care

This study tests a special care plan to prevent bedsores (pressure injuries) in intensive care patients and looks at whether it helps reduce both how often they happen and the costs. It may help if you or a loved one is admitted to the ICU for at least 24 hours and does not already have a bedsore.

NCT06819943Recruiting
Bed positioning to reduce pressure on the body

This study tests a special bed positioning technique (lateralization therapy) to see if it lowers pressure on the body and helps prevent bedsores in people on breathing machines. If you are on a ventilator and not yet ready to breathe on your own, this trial may help improve your comfort and skin health.

Study on blood pressure and bedsores in ICU patients

This trial looks at how blood pressure affects the development of bedsores in patients who are in the intensive care unit and unable to move. You may be able to join if you're between 18 and 70 years old, can't leave your bed, and do not already have bedsores.
