This study tests a special care plan to prevent bedsores (pressure injuries) in intensive care patients and looks at whether it helps reduce both how often they happen and the costs. It may help if you or a loved one is admitted to the ICU for at least 24 hours and does not already have a bedsore.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You are staying in the intensive care unit (ICU) for at least 24 hours
  • You do not have any existing bedsores (pressure injuries) on your body
  • You are at some risk for bedsores, as measured by a standard risk checklist (Braden scale)
