Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You are scheduled to have a lung segment or lobe removed by video or robot-assisted surgery
  • You are not severely obese (BMI not over 30)
  • You have no history of heart artery disease or severe COPD
  • You are not pregnant (and if able to have children, you agree to use effective birth control)
  • You have not had previous lung surgery or a tracheostomy
  • You are not currently in a pre-surgery physical therapy program
