Brain imaging and stimulation study for PTSD in veterans

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

This study uses brain scans and a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to help reduce PTSD symptoms in veterans. You may be eligible if you have ongoing PTSD symptoms and are on stable medication.

Who can take part

  • You are a veteran between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have a PTSD diagnosis with symptoms scoring 31 or higher on the PCL-5 questionnaire.
  • You speak English fluently.
  • You have been taking the same psychiatric medications for at least one month.
  • You do not have any implanted electrical devices like a pacemaker.
  • You are not pregnant and do not have any condition that makes MRI unsafe.
