Who can take part

  • You have a traumatic brain injury (TBI).
  • You are an adult between 16 and 99 years old.
  • You are admitted to the Royal London Hospital.
  • You already have a device inside your head measuring pressure (invasive ICP monitoring) as part of your care.
  • The skin on your forehead is healthy and without wounds.
  • You have not had a surgery where part of your skull was removed (decompressive craniectomy).
  • You do not have a tube draining fluid from your brain (external ventricular drain).
  • Your doctors expect you to survive longer than 12 hours.
