Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You have a severe traumatic brain injury that requires a pressure monitor in the brain for at least 24 hours.
  • You can be enrolled within 24 hours of being admitted to the ICU.
  • You are not known to be pregnant.
  • You do not have both pupils unreactive to light (a sign of very severe injury).
  • You have not had a large piece of skull removed (decompressive craniectomy) before the trial.
  • You or your legal representative must give written permission to join the study.
