Who can take part
- You are an unpaid caregiver (spouse, relative, or friend) who either lives with the person with dementia or visits them at least 3 times a week.
- The person with dementia lives at home, not in a nursing home or assisted living.
- The person with dementia has a dementia diagnosis or serious memory/thinking problems that suggest dementia (any type is okay).
- The person with dementia does not receive paid help with daily tasks like dressing, bathing, or eating more than once a week.
- Neither the caregiver nor the person with dementia has a major mental or physical illness that would make it hard to take part (like severe depression or a recent stroke).
- The person with dementia is not in another support program or similar study, and dementia is not due to HIV, brain injury, Down syndrome, Huntington's disease, or alcohol abuse.
