This study compares two approaches for people with a blood infection caused by Staphylococcus aureus who are at low risk for heart infection (VIRSTA score <3). Half of the participants will get a standard echocardiogram (heart ultrasound), and the other half will not, to see if skipping the test is safe and effective.

Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have a blood infection (bacteremia) caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.
- A follow-up blood test taken 48 hours after the first positive test shows the infection is clearing.
- Your VIRSTA score (a tool to predict risk of heart infection) is less than 3.
- You have not had an echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) for this infection yet.
