Who can take part

  • Your child must be admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Grenoble-Alps University Hospital.
  • Your child must have acute respiratory failure (a sudden breathing problem) that needs a breathing machine for at least 48 hours.
  • Your child must not already be seeing a lung specialist (pediatric pulmonologist).
  • Your child must not have a condition they were born with (congenital disease).
  • Your child must not be on long-term ventilation at home.
  • Your child must not still be in the hospital 3 months after admission.
