Who can take part
- Be at least 16 years old
- Have a traumatic injury to the spine (with or without spinal cord injury)
- Currently need a breathing machine through an endotracheal tube or tracheostomy
- Be able to provide consent yourself, or have a substitute decision-maker who can
- Not be expected to stop the study treatment within 24 hours of screening
