Who can take part

  • You must have follicular lymphoma (grade 1, 2, or 3a) that has not been treated before.
  • Your lymphoma must be at stage II, III, or IV and need treatment because of symptoms like fever, night sweats, weight loss, or an enlarged spleen.
  • You must have at least one tumor that can be measured on a scan.
  • Your overall health must be good enough (ECOG score 0–2) and your blood counts, kidney, and liver function must be within certain limits.
  • You cannot have lymphoma that has spread to the brain or spinal cord, or that has changed into a more aggressive lymphoma.
