Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 50 years old.
  • You are either a healthy volunteer or have a diagnosis of ME/CFS.
  • You can speak and understand English.
  • You have no metal in your body that would interfere with an MRI (like a pacemaker or metal fragments), and you are not claustrophobic.
  • You have not used opioid pain medications recently (more than 2 weeks in the last 2 years, or any in the last month).
  • You have not used cannabis more than once or twice in the last two weeks, and no other illegal drugs or prescription misuse.
