Who can take part
- You have a specialist diagnosis of ME/CFS using the 2015 diagnostic criteria
- You are willing to sign informed consent before any testing starts
- You do not have other conditions that can explain fatigue (such as certain mental health conditions or substance misuse)
- You do not have medical problems that make exercise tests unsafe (for example, recent heart problems, uncontrolled blood pressure, or low oxygen at rest)
- You can understand and follow the test instructions, and you can walk or cycle
- You have not done a “peak exercise” CPET test in the last 3 years
