Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with herpes simplex virus infection in the cornea (stromal keratitis).
  • You have a positive tear test for the virus.
  • You have not used antiviral drugs or steroids in your eye in the last 48 hours.
  • You do not have other eye diseases like severe dry eye, glaucoma, or a history of corneal transplant.
  • You are willing to use effective birth control during the trial and for 12 months after treatment.
