Tailoring chemo dose for GI cancer patients low in a liver enzyme
Treatments studied
Part of Cancer, Digestive system clinical trials.
This trial tests whether adjusting the dose of chemotherapy drugs (5-FU or capecitabine plus oxaliplatin) based on a liver enzyme test can improve safety and effectiveness for people with gastrointestinal cancer who are starting this type of chemo for the first time.

This study tests whether doctors can safely find the best dose of 5-FU, a chemotherapy medicine, for people with advanced gastrointestinal cancers. The goal is to reduce side effects while still treating the cancer effectively.
This trial tests two chemotherapy drugs, capecitabine alone or with oxaliplatin, in people aged 70 or older after surgery for stage III colorectal cancer. The goal is to find out which treatment works better to prevent cancer from coming back.
This trial tests putting a chemo drug (fluorouracil) directly into the colon through a tube. It's for people with colorectal cancer who are already getting other cancer treatment, to see if adding local chemo helps shrink the main tumor.
This trial tests whether a special blood test that detects cancer DNA can help doctors decide if you need additional chemotherapy after colorectal cancer surgery. The goal is to personalize treatment based on your individual risk rather than giving chemotherapy to everyone.
This trial tests a combination of three chemotherapy drugs (liposomal irinotecan, oxaliplatin, and capecitabine) given directly into the liver blood vessel after surgery to remove colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver. The goal is to reduce the chance of cancer coming back.
This Phase 3 trial tests different ways to deliver chemotherapy for colon cancer that has spread only to the liver (with limited possible tiny lung spots). It looks at whether the treatment plan improves outcomes compared with another chemotherapy approach, using oxaliplatin and LV5FU2 (with or without irinotecan) plus an added targeted medicine.
