Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with sepsis (a severe infection that causes your body to attack itself).
  • Your infection is either bacterial (confirmed by culture) or viral (specifically COVID-19, confirmed by a PCR test).
  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are currently admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).
  • You do not have both a bacterial and viral infection (mixed infection).
  • You have not received any immune-modifying drugs (other than standard treatments).
