Who can take part

  • You have had painful mouth sores from oral lichen planus for more than 2 months.
  • The sores are on the inside of both cheeks and in the gum groove near your back teeth.
  • The sores are small to medium in size (between 3 mm and 10 mm across, total area between 9 and 100 square mm) and are about the same size on both sides.
  • You have significant gum disease (plaque, tartar, and gum inflammation) in the area of the sores.
  • You have advanced periodontitis (stage II to IV).
