Who can take part

  • You are having a first-time hip arthroscopy.
  • You are under 60 years old.
  • Your surgeon will use the Arthrex LoopLoc device for capsule closure.
  • You have not had any past hip surgery.
  • Your hip socket angle is between 25 and 40 degrees.
  • You do not have severe cartilage damage (grade 3 or higher).

Hip Labral Repair vs. Reconstruction Surgery for Adults Over 40

This pilot study tests two different surgical approaches to repair a torn or damaged labrum (cartilage ring) in the hip joint for patients over 40. Both approaches are done through minimally invasive hip arthroscopy, and the trial will help doctors understand which method works better and whether a larger study is feasible.
