Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with rectal cancer that has not spread to other parts of the body (stage II or III).
- The tumor is within 5 cm of the anal opening.
- You have not had any previous cancer treatment (chemotherapy, radiation, or immunotherapy) for this cancer.
- Your general health is good enough to be active and care for yourself (ECOG score 0 or 1).
