Who can take part
- You must be 18 or older
- You must have Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a serious lung condition, diagnosed within the last 72 hours
- Your blood oxygen level must be very low (PaO2 below 150 mmHg) despite oxygen therapy
- You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding
- You must not have severe liver or kidney disease, or be on dialysis
- You must not have cancer, HIV, or be taking immunosuppressive drugs (except low-dose steroids)
