Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You are in the hospital with chest pain and an acute injury to the heart muscle.
- Your doctor has ordered a cardiac MRI because they suspect: a heart attack without blocked arteries, inflammation of the heart muscle, or stress-related heart damage.
- You are able to have both a cardiac CT scan (with iodine contrast) and a cardiac MRI (with gadolinium contrast).
- You do NOT have a pre-existing heart muscle disease or chronic heart disease from blocked arteries.
- You have NOT had a coronary angiogram showing blocked arteries of 50% or more.
