Who can take part
- You have a narrowed artery in your heart from plaque buildup, and you are scheduled to have a balloon or stent procedure to open it.
- The blockage must have a lot of calcium (hard deposits) as seen on an X-ray or other imaging test.
- The artery being treated must be between 2.5 and 4.0 millimeters wide.
- You are at least 18 years old and not pregnant.
- You do not have severe kidney disease, heart failure, or an active infection.
