MRI-Guided Internal Radiation for Returning Prostate Cancer

This trial tests a new way to use a type of internal radiation (high-dose-rate brachytherapy) guided by MRI to treat prostate cancer that has come back in the same area after previous radiation therapy. It is designed to be more precise and hopefully safer while using the latest PSMA PET scans to make sure the cancer hasn't spread.

Who can take part

  • You must have had radiation therapy to your prostate area in the past (with or without the nearby lymph nodes).
  • Your cancer must have come back in the prostate bed — the area where your prostate used to be — shown by a biopsy, MRI, or PSMA-PET scan.
  • You must have had at least two PSA tests that went up after your radiation, and your current PSA must be above 0.2 ng/dL.
  • You should be able to take care of yourself (ECOG score 0–2).
  • You must not have cancer that has spread to other organs (proven by imaging like PSMA PET, CT, MRI, or bone scan).
