Who can take part

  • Your prostate cancer must be confirmed by biopsy as a recurrence after you had prior radiation treatment
  • Your cancer return must look localized on scans (MRI; or if MRI isn’t possible, TRUS plus CT), with no signs of spread to other organs
  • Your PSA blood test results must be less than 10 ng/mL, and your PSA should rise slowly (PSA doubling time over 6 months)
  • You should not have taken anti-androgen hormone therapy in the past year
  • You must have urinary symptoms from prostate cancer that are not too severe (IPSS/dysuria score 20 or less) and be well enough for study procedures (WHO health score 2 or less)
