Who can take part

  • Diagnosed with Down syndrome or cerebral palsy and have significant trouble speaking.
  • Speak English as your main language at home.
  • Be able to say or show at least 25 words using any method (speech, signs, device).
  • Be able to pick picture symbols on an iPad communication app correctly at least 50% of the time.
  • Have vision and hearing that are good enough (or corrected with glasses or hearing aids) for study activities.
  • Not have a diagnosis of autism or social communication disorder.
