This study tests whether the weight-loss drug tirzepatide (Mounjaro) can help prevent breast cancer from coming back in people who are overweight and have a sign of leftover cancer cells in their blood (called MRD-positive). You must have already finished at least one year of hormone therapy for early-stage breast cancer.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You were diagnosed with hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer that spread to lymph nodes in the past 15 years
  • You are overweight or obese (BMI over 27)
  • You have had a positive blood test for minimal residual disease (MRD) after completing at least 1 year of hormone therapy
  • You have not used insulin for diabetes, and have not taken a GLP-1 weight-loss drug in the last 3 months
  • You have no evidence of cancer spread (metastasis) on recent scans or blood work
